About the Doctors

Elbert T. Cheng, MD was raised in Mountain View and attended Stanford for his undergraduate studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and with honors. He then traveled to England and undertook research and additional studies at Oxford University. He completed his Medical Degree at Duke University and returned to Stanford for residency in Head and Neck Surgery. After five years of intense training, he traveled to Indianapolis for one additional year of focused study with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. After fellowship, he decided to return to the Bay area and is very happy to be back. Dr. E. Cheng is passionate about many things in his life, and his wife and children are at the top of the list. He is a sports enthusiast and is an avid runner, swimmer and golfer.
Dr. E. Cheng is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery, and the Santa Clara County Medical Society. In the last 10 years, he has pursued research projects and has published prolifically in scientific journals. In 2000, he earned the Triologic Society Vice President's Award for the best resident research paper. He has also presented his papers at several national medical conferences. Dr. Elbert Cheng is a recognized expert in his field and lectures internationally to other physicians.

Jacqueline T. Cheng, MD was born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Mountain View, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts and her Medical Degree in a combined six year BA-MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she graduated with distinction and received numerous honors including junior membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Merck Manual Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medical Education. After graduation from the University of Illinois, Chicago she completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery where she was fortunate to train under two internationally known facial plastic surgeons. After her residency, Dr. J. Cheng also completed advanced fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Meridian Plastic Surgery Center in Indianapolis under the direction of Dr. Stephen Perkins, who is a well respected facial plastic surgeon and past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Upon completion of her fellowship, she returned to the Bay area and has been practicing medicine here for several years. Although she finds surgery rewarding, it cannot compare to the enjoyment Jackie receives from spending time with her husband and sons.
Dr. J. Cheng is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery as well as numerous local and national medical societies. Dr. Cheng has published many articles and chapters on Facial Plastic Surgery and has several national presentations to her credit.
